The Security Manager (SM) is responsible for the overall design and execution of the security program. This will be first and foremost a technology-centric role but the SM will also be responsible for all security domains, including physical and staff security. The SM will work closely with system architects, engineers and developers to ensure the security of products and infrastructure operate effectively at both the tactical and strategic levels. Consequently, the ideal SM will have deep technical knowledge while having demonstrated managerial and execution skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set security vision and approach
Ensure existing and new technology meet a state-of-the-art security bar
Understand and analyze the business level risks and threats that we face
Manage vulnerabilities and design the right controls
Monitor and audit the program's overall effectiveness
Interface with clients to understand their product security needs and assist the development team to meet those standards

Qualifications
Strong Technical Aptitude - Must be able to hold own with developers, architects, etc. Computer Science or equivalent degree preferred. Experience with both Windows and Unix environments
Security Experience - Candidate should be deeply familiar with security concepts and standard security controls. Prefer candidates who started in technology/development then took on security, rather than vice-versa. Should be able to quickly understand and address new security concepts/concerns (e.g., physical, staff security.)
Secure Coding Experience - Candidate should be able to coach developers on best practices and review code to confirm it conforms to security guidelines and is free of vulnerabilities
Experience in Tech - Held other technical roles and preferably in a senior technology security position for financial services organizations

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree and several years of relevant experience. Financial services experience/interest is a plus.

Location

Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
